Chantico: Mexican Restaurant in Central Phoenix

Bone Marrow and a Pork Chimichanga at Chantico in Phoenix, AZ

Unicorn Tears Cocktail with black lava salt rim

  • Location: 1051 E Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85014

  • What: Elevated Mexican Restaurant with large portions

  • Vibe: The indoor seating has a nice airy vibe with high ceilings, a tree in the center and rattan pendants hanging. There’s an outdoor seating area that is well “sheltered” from Camelback Rd. I saw a private room you could rent out if you wanted the privacy. There’s a Cantina in the back, which is the only area to take part in Happy Hour.

  • Take Note: The portions are ginormous. GI-NORM-OUS. Also, Happy Hour is only in the “Cantina”.

Chantico Sweet Potato-Coconut Soup in Phoenix, AZ

Chantico Sweet Potato-Coconut Soup

We had a fun outing with friends at Chantico, and brought the kids along. The place had a great vibe, but what really blew us away was the food.

Seriously, the portions were enormous. We started with chips and salsa, and then tried the bone marrow appetizer and sweet potato coconut soup. The soup had this spicy oil on top and was absolutely amazing. We decided to share the green chili chimichanga with red sauce, which turned out to be a smart move. Each of the kids got a quesadilla, but they were massive—about the size of half a pizza! They could have easily shared just one.

Everything was super tasty, and even after splitting the meals, we still had leftovers to take home.
